The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteer reserve Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies. The goal of the organization is to save lives through mountain rescue and safety education. Headquartered at the Altadena Sheriffs Station, near the San Gabriel Mountains, the team is operational 24 hours each day, 365 days every year. AMRT is one of eight teams in Los Angeles County which, together, are staffed by 120 trained members.

I am Kyle Barbour, the product of some nucleic acid sequences and assorted environmental factors from San Francisco. When not doing the things most city-dwelling savannah primates do, I study medicine at the University of California, Irvine and work on harm reduction. Some of my work is available.
